TIMESMALANG, JAKARTA – Like it or not, lockdown makes you back to the old way of entertaining yourselves, watching tv. But, if you do a binge-watching, it has certain bad effect to your health. Wonder what are they? Let's check it out.

Well, the most obvious thing is it will make you have an eyestrain. This was caused since you watching a small, bright object in an otherwise dark room. The dark room makes your irises wide open, allowing lots of light to enter.

Furthermore, Miguel Martinez Gonzales of University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain on Dokter Sehat said that binge-watching with 3 or more hours in a day had twice the risk of dying during the 8-year follow-up period than those who said they didn’t watch more than 1 hour per day.

This was connected to the community's habit while watching tv. People usually will have some snacks, beer, soda, or those food which high in calories to accompany them. It triggered diabetes, and heart attack syndrome.

As bad as the other, watching tv before you sleep will ruin your sleeping quality. It will make you have some imsomnia and ruin your regular sleeping schedule.

And worse, lots of people will let their tv on while they are sleeping. The blue screen of tv will prevent your body to produce melatonin, an active hormon that actively improves your sleeping quality. So you better stop binge-watching from now on and give more attention to your health.
